How Do I Get Started?
Call studio and make an appointment for your recording session.
Pay deposit of 50% of the cost of the session.
Purchase a Firewire external hard disk drive if you do not have one.
Arrive at the studio on time for your session with the disk drive.
Arrive as close to the scheduled time as possible.
Do not be late but do not be more than a few minutes early. We cannot begin a session early.
You will be charged from the time the session was scheduled to begin, not the time you arrive.
The Fine Print
You can type your email address into the box above or call us at (858) 395-3012 or (858) 674-4737 so that we can send you additional information or answer any questions that you have. A 50% deposit is required to book the studio and the balance is due when you arrive for the session. A Session must be cancelled at least 48 hours before the scheduled date in order for the client to receive a refund of the deposit. Do not schedule a session unless you are sure you are going to keep it. Payments must be made in cash, money order, cashier's check or a major credit card. If you plan on paying with a credit card, payment must be made at the beginning of the session. Deposits can be made by mail or in person at the studio or we can bill you if you are paying by credit card. Studio tours are FREE but arrangements must be made in advance by telephone or email.
Clients must bring a working, external FireWire hard disk drive with sufficient available space to store at least 5 gigabytes of data per song to the first session. If a project will span multiple sessions then the client must bring that drive to each session of the project. It is the responsibility of the client to backup the recorded data after each session onto another drive for the sake of safety. The studio will not be responsible for any data lost due to the client's failure to backup the disk drive. It is the responsibility of the client that the drive be in proper operating condition. West Coast Recording Studio will not be responsible for any drive failure or the loss of data in that event. At the end of a project the client will retain that hard drive and all of the Pro Tools session files and audio track files stored on it during the project. The studio can supply a client with a gold plated master CD of the completed project for use in duplication at an additional fee of $15 each. For projects that span multiple days, if the client wishes to take home a CD containing the unfinished material to review the work done so far, the studio can provide these for a cost of $5.00 per CD. The studio always uses the highest quality, music grade CD's by Sony or Memorex to make these.
